Operations Support Worker
About the Role
Sixpenny Architectural Fabrication is seeking a reliable and hard-working Operations Support Worker to assist with the day-to-day functioning of our fabrication shop and warehouse.
This hands-on position is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping spaces organized, enjoys varied tasks, and can support the team with logistics, materials handling, and general upkeep.
While fabrication experience is not required, this role does involve working in a fabrication environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Shop & Warehouse Tasks
Perform daily cleaning and shop upkeep (sweeping, waste removal, organizing tools and equipment)
Restock consumables and materials at workstations
Receive and organize deliveries and shipments
Coordinate and carry out pickups and drop-offs using the company vehicle
Keep warehouse and inventory spaces clean and accessible
Report low stock levels or maintenance issues to supervisors
Shipping, Crating & Packing
Assist with packaging and preparing outgoing deliveries
Build wooden crates for shipping finished metalwork
Use basic woodworking tools safely and effectively
Label and organize materials and shipments clearly
Team & Task Support
Use Monday.com (training provided) to receive and check off assigned tasks
Work cooperatively with the shop and office teams to keep operations moving smoothly
What We’re Looking For
1–2 years of experience in a fabrication shop, warehouse, delivery, or similar role
Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic
Comfortable with physical labour and lifting up to 50 lbs
Experience using basic tools, including woodworking tools, is an asset
Willing to learn crate building and handling of fragile or custom-made products
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Forklift and/or scissor lift certification is a bonus (or willingness to obtain)
Familiarity with basic digital tools or comfort learning (Monday.com experience is a plus)
Team-oriented and willing to assist where needed
Compensation
$20–$26/hour, based on experience and skill level.
After a 3-month probation period this role includes access to health benefits, a group payroll contributions program, and 2 paid sick days annually.
