Engineers: Blackwell EngineeringA permanent public art commission for Woodbine Racetrack, Trifecta is a grouping of three large-scale sculptures that reference the energy, motion, and iconography of thoroughbred racing. The work is sited on the Woodbine grounds, where its scale is best appreciated in person.
Sixpenny provided fabrication and installation of the three sculptures, working closely with the artist and consultant to translate the design intent into finished, site-ready works.

Sixpenny worked directly with artist Dana Slijboom and Public Art Management to develop a fabrication approach that met the artist's aesthetic intent while satisfying the structural and durability requirements of a permanent outdoor installation
All components were cut, formed, welded and finished by Sixpenny
A stainless steel substrate was chosen for long-term corrosion resistance, with the epoxy/urethane coating system providing colour retention and UV stability for the exposed outdoor setting
Structural review and engineering were completed in coordination with Blackwell Engineering
Installation at Woodbine Racetrack was completed in 2024
